Allegheny Passage Bike Trip, 2013

In October, Troop 233 held a 50 mile bike overnight on the Great Allegheny Passage. It was a great success.

Our adventure started in Frostburg, MD and ended in Confluence, PA. On the first day, we biked 30 miles up the trail, through the Big Savage Tunnel and over the Eastern Continental Divide, and camped in a campsite just off the trail at Rockwood, PA. The next day we biked 20 miles to Confluence, and were there by noon!

Luckily the weather cooperated. We had some rain in camp, but very little on the trail. The temperature was brisk, but not uncomfortable. The fall colors were amazing. Thanks to Jacob S., our scout organizer!

A few days before the trip, we held a bike clinic to make sure everyone’s bike was in working order. Thanks again to everyone who attended, drove or helped with the clinic.
