Info Session to Explore Interest in All-Girl BSA Troop

Exploratory Meeting to Gauge Interest in starting a new Girl-Led Boy Scout Troop

The Boy Scouts of America has set February 1, 2019 as the launch date for a new program to serve girls, ages 11-17.

Troop 233, based in Bethesda, has scheduled a meeting to gauge interest in forming a parallel All-Girl Troop designed to build character, citizenship, and personal fitness through a vigorous outdoor program and peer group leadership. Scouts will explore their interests and improve skills while working toward Scouting’s highest rank: Eagle.

The purpose of this exploratory meeting is to gauge the level of interest in the Bethesda community, both from girls and their parents. We would also like to explore some organizational questions, such as the relationship between this new All-Girl troop and its All-Boy counterpart.
