Time to Get Excited about Goshen!

Scouts,

Here is some updates about activities this summer at Goshen Scout Reservation.  Troop 233 is planning to be at Goshen’s Camp Marriott from July 8-15, 2017. Please visit our Goshen page for more details and how to sign up!

In addition to the “typical” fun activities of water sports, range sports, and merit badges, Goshen has more to offer, whether you are a new scout or an older scout. See below for a few of these programs.

STEM: If you haven’t already heard, we will be hosting a new pilot STEM program this year! See here for details or click on the STEM at Goshen 2017 Brochure for more info.

Provisional Campers:  If you cannot go the same week as your unit, please don’t forget about our Provisional programs at Camp Marriott, where the youth do not have to have adults to come to camp. More information here. There are also opportunities for youth who want to do a second week on their own, or who just want to be on the fast track to Eagle with our Trail to Eagle program mentioned below.

Trail to Eagle:  Trail to Eagle is the highlight program offered during Camp Marriott’s Specialty Week. Instead of the standard program, participants engage in activities, Merit Badges, and other offerings based on the program theme.

Specialty Week is traditionally largely attended by provisional Scouts (attending individually), but is also open to units. Click on the  TTE Brochure 2017 for more info.

Lenhok’sin:  Have you thought about a Trek at Lenhok’sin? For those older scouts that aspire to go to Philmont someday, I would definitely consider this option as a warm up. With a small enough Crew size, you will only need two adults and they both go for free. Boys age 13 and up can participate and more information is here: http://www.ncacbsa.org/outdoors/goshen-camps/lenhoksin-2/.

Prices for Goshen are listed on our Goshen page. Sign up now for the Early Bird Rates and get a free Goshen hat. Note that prices go up after April 15, 2017.
